Windows 98
Internet Explorer

The commercial, produced by the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT) and the Industry Trust for IP Licensing, was designed to raise awareness about the impact of illegal downloading and digital piracy. Featuring the memorable "You wouldn't steal a car" tagline, the spot uses a series of analogies to highlight the legal and ethical implications of copyright infringement. A significant piece of 2000s media history, it remains a well-known example of early digital age copyright messaging. (less)
